Experienced Auto Glass Technician

About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. This position requires a combination of technical skills and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order and customer administration systems, and Safelite’s handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses.
• Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools safely.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools.
• Professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work with chemicals as required by the “Safelite Way of Fitting”.
• Flexibility to work scheduled days with some flexibility on start and end times.
• Problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
• Reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to company uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
• Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure and opposition.
