Experienced Auto Body Repair Technician ($4000 Hiring Bonus)

About the role

We’re looking for Autobody Preppers with a minimum of 3 years of professional automotive bodywork experience to join Carvana, the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and one of the four fastest companies to make the Fortune 500.

As an Experienced Auto Body Repair Technician, you’ll perform bodywork on multiple panels, including:

• Heavy plastic welding
• Minor metal pulling
• Roof and rocker panel repair
• Large area, heavy bodywork (including Bondo repair)

At Carvana, you’ll work in one of our high-tech Inspection Centers using state-of-the-art tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform bodywork on multiple panels, including heavy plastic welding, minor metal pulling, roof and rocker panel repair, and large area heavy bodywork (including Bondo repair)
• Work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment
• Adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment
• Work mandatory overtime as needed to meet business demands

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive bodywork experience
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools, including lifting up to 60 pounds independently
• Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license (some positions may require a Motor Vehicle Records check)
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat/cold)
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Schedule

Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with some overtime available. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.

• Entry-Level Prepper (min 1 year professional experience): Light bodywork, including prepping, sanding, buffing, removing/installing bumpers, single panel repair (including Bondo), and minor plastic welding.
• Mid-Level Prepper (min 3-5 years professional experience): Bodywork on multiple panels, including heavy plastic welding, minor metal pulling, roof and rocker panel repair, stud welding, and large area heavy bodywork (including Bondo).
• Experienced Prepper (min 5 years professional experience): Train other autobody technicians and perform extensive bodywork on multiple panels, including plastic welding, metal pulling, roof and rocker panel repair, and stud welding.
