About the role

Guggenheim Securities is seeking experienced Associates to join their Investment Banking Global Services team in Chicago or Atlanta. The role involves providing advisory services to private equity firms and corporate clients, with a focus on sell-side advisory engagements. The team works closely with colleagues in Boston, London, and New York, and offers opportunities for junior talent development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analyses to support advisory transactions and highlight key takeaways
  • Carefully review and provide guidance to Analyst teammates
  • Develop working knowledge of multiple client sectors, monitor key industry drivers, and assemble insights to support and enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives
  • Lead diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of potential and live transactions
  • Lead development of relevant marketing memoranda, diligence exhibits, and transaction artifacts
  • Anticipate potential deal challenges and elevate concerns through to team members in real time
  • Drive creation of strategic frameworks, tools, and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm
  • Participate in client meetings and drafting sessions
  • Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete group tasks more efficiently
  • Leverage C-Suite level exposure to drive client relationships
  • Apply understanding of macro factors related to client sectors and investment banking
  • Conduct “on the job” training, providing continuous, constructive feedback to improve quality of analyst and intern work product
  • Participate in recruiting and training activities

Requirements

  • IB Analyst promotes to Associate or MBA hires with 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Commitment to meet the demands of high volume and high-end client services
  • Effective communicator – verbal, written, and virtual
  • Highly organized project manager capable of thriving in high velocity environments
  • Agile leader that can exercise sound judgment under pressure
  • Curious and resourceful businessperson with strong understanding of accounting and finance
  • Mature teammate with the ability to develop relationships with senior-level colleagues and clients
  • Player-Coach mentality with strong desire to mentor and train junior teammates
  • Desire to join a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial platform
  • Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • 1-3 years of prior investment banking or equivalent M&A experience
  • Sell-side advisory experience a plus
  • SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
