Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Complete daily meter reading assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Demonstrates safe, high-quality work practices.
• Responds to the needs of internal and external customers with commitment to customer service.
• Troubleshoots and employs critical thinking daily.
• Completes all work assigned promptly according to schedule.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• This is an outdoor position.
• Completes all tracking documents (electronic and paper).
• Sets appropriate priorities and works under scheduled time requirements and high meter reading accuracy.
• Identifies and reports all conditions that prohibit the reading of meters &/or hazardous conditions to management.
• Knows the written safety rules and procedures and adheres to them.
• Works Day Shift hours Monday through Friday. Some Overtime and Saturdays are required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Meter Reading experience is preferred but not required.
• Able to walk over 6 miles per day in all weather conditions.
• Must have a good attendance and timeliness history at the current position.
• Able to comprehend new hand-held/tablet technology.
• Strong directional skills: Ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites.
• Cumptent in the use of PC systems to include handheld devices.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.

Education & Experience

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Pre-Screen

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

Physical Requirements

• RARE(less than 10%): crawling, climbing poles, lifting 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., color vision, climbing ladders, balancing, lifting over 50 lbs.
• OCCASIONAL(up to 33%): sitting, kneeling, body-twisting, gripping, reading, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, lifting up to 10 lbs.
• FREQUENT(up to 66%): standing, walking, stooping, squatting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distance, climbing on/off a truck, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception
• CONTINUOUS(up to 100%): sense of touch, seeing
