Core Responsibilities
- Coordinates locations of materials to be unloaded.
- Checks incoming steel in accordance with receiving procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Directs and assists other employees as required in all phases of material control and handling.
- Moves materials and assigns locations utilizing overhead cranes and/or forklifts.
- Keeps work area organized and clean.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 12 months of directly related and stable work experience.
- Experience with crane, rigging, and forklifts.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using full skills of the trade.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
