EXPEDITOR

Essential Job Functions

• Oversees Vendor Selection
• Affords vendor capabilities assessment
• Evaluates vendor performance
• Negotiates delivery terms
• Consults with department managers and surgeons
• Determines appropriate vendors
• Provides product information to Contract Managers and Director
• Consults with vendors
• Evaluates and investigates order issues
• Reviews proposed contracts
• Evaluates discounts, pricing, and delivery
• Ensures proper credit is received
• Guarantees compliance with purchasing policies
• Expedites orders
• Covers timely arrival of equipment or supplies
• Maintains records
• Updates computer files with product, vendor, and pricing information
• Ensures continuous maintenance coverage as per warranty and contract expiration
• Assists with loaner equipment/supply activation
• Orders supplies
• Maintains adequate par levels of supplies
• Affirms supplies are delivered in a timely manner
• Verifies daily orders from the storeroom
• Assists the Recall coordinator with the collection and return of manufacturer's recalled items
• Arranges for return and replacement
• Collaborates with Safety Department
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Solves problems as needed
• Assists other Expeditors as required

Executes Routine Orders

• Executes the procurement requisitioning process
• Ensures appropriate signatures are present for purchase approval
• Confirms accuracy of product and pricing
• Facilitates timely payment of invoices
• Verifies pricing and quantity conformance with purchase order
• Researches discrepancies to ensure compliance with purchase order conditions
• Executes necessary functions for corrections
• Manages specific payable status exception reports

Supports Contract Managers and Director

• Provides support to Contract Managers and Director as requested

Sources and Researches Products and Equipment

• Sources and researches products and equipment
• Notifies user departments of product recalls
• Determines product substitutions in conjunction with Contract Managers and end-users

Competency and Experience

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education
• Experience in procurement, supply chain, customer service or equivalent
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
• Preferred Qualifications/Experience (please Add Any Additional Requirements)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, or equivalent preferred
• 1 - 3 years’ experience in business, supply chain, or equivalent
• Experience in Healthcare setting
