Expediting Associate

Job Overview

Provides the resources to procure and expedite the delivery of parts to meet expected demand and replenishment requirements, improving overall availability and minimizing backorders.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for expediting non-stock and stock backorders as well as ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet distributor requirements.
• Accountable to identify supplier deficiencies and recommend actions for improvement to team management, including supplier leadtime inaccuracies and any other issues that may affect overall availability goals.
• Responsible for achieving supplier performance metrics and making fact-based decisions on supplier overtime, as well as managing a proportional share of premium freight budget.
• Collaborates with planners to ensure proactive coverage of expected requirements, including demand, kits, firm future orders, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Seasoned general business or industry experience.
• High school diploma required. College degree a plus.
• Extreme sense of urgency and outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
• Personally accountable and welcomes responsibility.
• Functional level skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Access is a plus.
• Able to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in written form with suppliers and internal functions within Komatsu.
• Prior experience with logistics data systems and the ability to quickly develop deep working knowledge of internal systems.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, over 90% of the work period, to complete detailed work, typically using a PC. The position occasionally requires working extended periods to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
