Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, implements, and supports programs and activities designed to reduce school-related concerns, as outlined in the Bureau of Behavioral Health statement of work.
- Maintains a visible presence throughout assigned school buildings and grounds.
- Collaborates with school and community partners, including the school resource officer, principal, assistant principal, school counselor, attendance officer, juvenile probation staff, and other appropriate personnel.
- Captures and documents student behavioral concerns as appropriate and assists in developing interventions and supports consistent with program guidelines and student needs.
- Provides classroom presentations on program-related topics in coordination with instructional staff.
- Provides Tier 1 programming for all students and Tier 2 programming for targeted student populations to meet state requirements.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with students, parents/guardians, school administration, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Engages parents and community members as on-site advocates and supports within the schools.
- Serves on the Student Services Team and School Crisis Team, as applicable.
- Assists school administrative staff and appropriate team members in responding to crisis-related concerns in accordance with established policies, procedures, and scope of role.
- Participates periodically in alternative and remediation programs, detention halls, attendance academies, and similar school-based supports.
- Participates in professional development and growth opportunities.
- Completes monthly reports and other required accountability reports as assigned.
- Uses needs assessment data and observations to make recommendations to school administration and staff.
- Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, ethical conduct, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement while supporting organizational core values, including caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, customer service, and valuing diversity.
- Performs other duties and accepts additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, or equivalent education and experience as permitted by applicable program and disability-specific requirements.
- Prior experience using computerized medical records, scheduling systems, and standard computer applications is preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills are required.
