About the role
The Division of Hospitalist Medicine in partnership with Hematology and Oncology, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NPs and/or PAs) with experience in complex medical management and oncology to join their team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Provide history, physicals, and procedures as outlined in the privileging agreement.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and professional committees.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and document care according to standards.
- Prescribe in accordance with the collaborative agreement and state regulations.
- Care for complex medical and solid oncology patient teams.
- Partner with oncologists, palliative care specialists, and nurses in the care of solid oncology patients.
- Provide care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and advanced disease complications.
- Maximize medical-oncology care in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Current licensure or eligibility for credentialing by the medical board in the Commonwealth of PA.
- Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Nursing or Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate Prepared Physician Assistant.
- At least 2 years of inpatient advanced practice experience preferred.
- Oncology experience as a Nurse or as a Provider is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required).
- Prescriptive Authority (Required).
Qualifications
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Pennsylvania State license, active and in good standing at time of hire.
- Prepared Registered Nurse - PA (Required if Acute Care Nurse Practitioner).
Skills
- Experience in acute care settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage complex medical and oncology cases.
