About the role

Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with over 70 years of success serving the association market, seeks an Exhibitor & Sponsorship Specialist to join their team in either Chicago or Washington DC.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the overall delivery of trade shows and managing project timelines, including logistical management.
  • Developing trade show strategies, solutions, and innovations tailored to client needs.
  • Managing trade show project scope, identifying issues, and developing contingency plans.
  • Managing trade show financials, including revenue projections, budget development, and financial performance monitoring.
  • Communicating project status, addressing concerns, and ensuring trade show outcomes are met.
  • Led floor plan management and overseeing space selection.
  • Supporting prospectus and contract development, working with the Marketing and Sales team.
  • Overseeing third-party supplier needs, coordinating RFP processes, and selecting vendors.
  • Overseeing exhibitor communication and ongoing customer services.
  • Overseeing sponsorship fulfillment programs in collaboration with Sales to ensure benefit creation, collection, and fulfillment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in tradeshow, exposition, or sponsorship planning environments.
  • Proficiency with exhibit management software, such as ExpoCAD, Salesforce, and other CRM platforms.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Pay

The expected pay range for this role is $74,000 - $80,000 for Chicago and $78,000 - $84,000 for Washington DC.

Schedule

Smithbucklin operates on a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Employees work a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines.
