Exercise Physiologist - PRN Day Shift

About the Role

This part-time, day-shift position involves administering exercise sessions safely to obtain reliable and valid data, providing exercise-related education to patients and the community, and ensuring all exercise science standards meet regulatory and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and monitor exercise prescription development for rehabilitation patients; recommend changes to exercise therapy to the coordinator prior to implementation.
  • Oversee department charges, chargemaster process, charge capture, and reconciliation to ensure accurate documentation of services and supplies.
  • Perform pulse oximetry and blood pressure measurements; document findings as required.
  • Recognize symptom changes or signs of problems and initiate appropriate medical responses, including first responder care.
  • Provide required patient education and assist the program coordinator with program compliance, benchmarking, and performance improvement.
  • Actively participate in program certification and monitor adherence to organizational and national regulatory guidelines for rehab programs.
  • Clean exercise and oximetry equipment as outlined in the procedure manual.
  • Complete visit notifications, task entries, and task completion in PowerChart.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Kinesiology required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required.
  • Clinical teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience in exercise programming, stress reduction, and nutrition preferred.
  • Experience in taking blood pressures, pulses, EKG interpretation, pulse oximetry, and/or oxygen administration preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to work with a broad range of people.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Clinical knowledge of disease management programming for multiple co-morbidities.
