Executive Vice President of Global Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• AI-Driven Engineering Transformation
• Lead adoption of agentic AI tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, MCP-based agents) across the software development lifecycle.
• Drive AI-assisted reverse engineering and modernization of legacy platforms into the Asgard architecture.
• Establish AI standards, governance, training, and hiring expectations.
• Make AI fluency a core competency across engineering.
• Engineering Leadership
• Define and execute VikingCloud's multi-year technology roadmap.
• Lead global Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams.
• Scale and evolve the cloud-native Asgard platform.
• Drive legacy platform consolidation and modernization.
• Architecture & Infrastructure
• Lead architectural decisions supporting scalable, cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms.
• Oversee migration from fragmented Rackspace, AWS, and GCP environments into a unified Google Cloud Platform.
• Establish engineering governance, design standards, and technical review processes.
• Quality & Delivery
• Transform manual QA into a fully automated release process using AI-assisted testing and CI/CD.
• Reduce release cycles from weeks to days through automation.
• Improve deployment reliability, testing, and release quality.
• Organizational Leadership
• Audit and strengthen engineering leadership.
• Build high-performing global teams across the US, Europe, India, and other regions.
• Optimize global operating models, including India-US and India-Europe collaboration.
• Foster accountability, ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Executive Partnership
• Partner closely with Product leadership to align engineering execution with business strategy.
• Collaborate across Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations.
• Represent VikingCloud in customer meetings, executive presentations, escalations, and business development activities.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience with at least 8 years in senior engineering leadership (VP Engineering, CTO, SVP Engineering, or equivalent).
• Significant experience managing large engineering teams in India.
• Hands-on experience using modern agentic AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, MCP-based integrations, or similar.
• Demonstrated success using AI to reverse-engineer and modernize complex legacy platforms.
• Deep software architecture expertise, including cloud-native platforms, microservices, and large-scale modernization initiatives.
• Experience leading major cloud migrations, preferably to Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong background implementing agile methodologies and engineering transformation.
• Experience building engineering metrics and operational excellence programs.
• Proven ability to lead organizational change, restructure teams, and build accountability.
• Strong executive communication skills with customer-facing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Strongly Preferred:
• Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, fintech, or payments.
• Experience in private equity-backed organizations, M&A integration, or post-acquisition technology consolidation.
• Published technical work, patents, or recognized engineering thought leadership.
• Experience supporting multi-tenant or white-label SaaS platforms.
• Strong background in infrastructure cost optimization and vendor management.
• Experience operating high-volume platforms processing billions of events daily.
