About the Role

As a Specialty Sales Executive Team Leader, you will lead a sales force of specialized consultants who provide tailored suggestions and solutions through active selling and compelling visual merchandising. Teams in Apparel & Accessories (A&A), Beauty, and Electronics prioritize guest experience while managing tasks such as pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.

This role helps build and develop skills for a career by providing:

  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and managing a guest-first culture
  • Experience in retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions
  • Ability to plan and manage department workloads to support business priorities and sales goals
  • Skills in managing multiple specialty businesses and balancing team expertise
  • Experience managing hourly team members and leaders, including recruiting, selecting, and talent management

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand your role in sales growth and profitability
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead your team to prioritize guest experience and sales goals
  • Adjust schedules to align with guest traffic and business needs
  • Plan merchandising and pricing workloads, including transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, and promotions
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business objectives
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Build and manage a knowledgeable and passionate sales team in Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment to ensure product availability
  • Deliver inspiring visual merchandising in A&A, Home, Baby, and other seasonally relevant areas
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor
  • Plan, lead, and follow up on organizational and operational changes
  • Anticipate and address changes in store trends and staffing needs
  • Recruit, develop, and coach team members and leaders to close skill gaps
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management
  • Provide service that meets guest needs and ensures a positive shopping experience
  • Demonstrate and uphold a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Address store needs, including emergencies and regulatory visits
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to manage conflict, lead, and hold others accountable
  • Ability to relate well and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial/quantitative analysis
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; regular attendance is necessary
