Executive Head/GM Hotel

About the Role

Oversee general building maintenance in a 5-star hotel environment, ensuring all facilities are sanitary, attractive, safe, and compliant with regulatory standards. Manage a team and coordinate maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance, emergency response, and capital infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, repairs, and electrical work.
• Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on all equipment and building systems.
• Maintain facilities in a sanitary, attractive, safe, and orderly condition, compliant with all regulatory standards.
• Provide staff management, including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication.
• Ensure proper operations and maintenance of water systems, emergency electrical systems, sewage systems, primary electrical systems, telephone systems, fire alarm systems, and HVAC systems.
• Develop building maintenance plans, timetables, and recommendations for projects.
• Serve as project manager for small-scale, short-duration projects.
• Respond immediately to facility fire and disaster situations per emergency plans.
• Coordinate outside service vendors, contractors, and maintenance staff to complete projects.
• Report trends and issues to upper management.
• Implement and manage the departmental operating expense budget.
• Develop and maintain capital infrastructure budgets (short-term and long-term).
• Ensure approved capital infrastructure projects stay within budget.
• Review and plan current and future facility operational and maintenance needs, including researching new products and recommending purchases.
• Oversee an accurate computer maintenance management system for repair, maintenance, and construction activities.
• Ensure equipment and building systems receive proper maintenance through an effective preventive maintenance program.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, benchmarking, and tracking utilities to drive operational efficiency and sustainability.
• Provide oversight of safety administration through building inspections, safety inspections, and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Must have a high-level background in a 5-star hotel environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field (required).
