Executive Director, U.S. Pricing & Contracting
About the role
The Head of U.S. Pricing and Contracting is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end strategic and operational execution of the company’s U.S. commercial value proposition. You will architect innovative pricing strategies, lead contract operations, navigate a complex regulatory environment, and oversee the gross to net process.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Pricing and Contract Strategy
Design and execute short-term and long-term pricing strategies, including Wholesale Acquisition Cost (WAC) setting and discount corridors that align with the IRA’s negotiated Maximum Fair Price (MFP) environment, Most Favored Nation, and evolving market landscape.
Lead the development of innovative contracting models, such as value-based or outcomes-based agreements, analyzing pre-deal assumptions to secure optimal positioning on payer and PBM formularies.
Lead performance analytics to evaluate pull-through effectiveness and contract ROI, providing actionable insights to the sales and trade distribution teams.
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of contract operations for both commercial and government segments, including contract implementation, data interfaces, validation of rebate claims, contract adherence, management of membership/class-of-trade controls, and dispute management.
Maintain documentation supporting operational excellence, government reporting, financial reporting and legal/compliance requirements.
Lead initiatives pertaining to changes in government reporting, programs, or policy and regulatory changes. Ensure stakeholder communications and financial impact modeling. Partner with Legal for final implementation of changes.
Ensure 100% compliance in government price reporting, including the calculation and submission of AMP, Best Price, ASP, FAMP, NFAMP, FCP, ANFAMP, MFP and 340B ceiling prices to federal agencies.
Maintain rigorous oversight of transparency reporting and state-level price increase notifications to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Lead responses to Government policies and regulatory requests or changes in collaboration with Legal, Policy, Market Access, Finance, and Executive Team.
Partner with Corporate Affairs/Policy team in providing support and insight related to Federal and State Reporting.
Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of pricing and contracting professionals, fostering a culture of compliance and strategic agility.
Own and chair the U.S. Organizational Pricing Committee, facilitating cross-functional consensus on high-stakes pricing and contracting decisions.
Serve as an internal advisor on federal policy changes (e.g., IRA, Medicare Part D redesign) and their subsequent impact on the commercial ecosystem.
Lead communications/assumptions/modeling in partnership with Finance and Market Access to inform external market events (commercial or governmental) that could impact current and future financials.
Required Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced financial degree preferred.
Experience: 12+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, with at least 8 years in Pricing, Contracting, or Market Access.
Therapeutic Knowledge: Experience in Oncology or Rare Diseases is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Deep expertise in U.S. Payer/PBM economics, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and 340B regulations. Mastery of GTN financial modeling and government price reporting system.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate complex policy changes, such as those from the IRA, into actionable commercial strategies.
Leadership: Proven track record of managing multi-functional teams and influencing executive-level stakeholders while also demonstrating a willingness to provide 'hands-on' support for the team.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $239,000-$316,000. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
