Responsibilities

  • Lead the community’s daily operations, associate relations, resident and resident family engagement, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and execute the business plan and develop the team to become a preferred senior living community in the market, while growing revenue and profitability in partnership with the district team.
  • Work with sales to drive sales results and create an inclusive community culture that provides high-quality resident experiences and care.
  • Oversee all operations within the community, interacting with staff, residents, prospects, or their family members; build and maintain strong working relationships with the management team.
  • Develop and implement the business plan to become a preferred senior living community in the local market; create, analyze, and execute annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Manage community performance against goals; set plans to improve or maintain performance to Company service and financial standards.
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate community staff; provide assistance as needed. Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and an inclusive community culture.
  • Ensure community maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet the needs of residents and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Attract, develop, engage, and retain associates in accordance with Company policies. Recruit and hire high-quality associates and ensure they are appropriately trained.
  • Review promotions, development plans, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions to ensure consistency in the selection and retention of quality associates.
  • Analyze trends in recruiting, turnover, and retention to continually improve community performance.
  • Build a high degree of resident satisfaction and retention; maintain positive resident relations and be accessible and approachable to residents and their families.
  • Proactively solve problems and resolve issues with support from district leaders. Leverage satisfied residents and families to grow community occupancy.
  • Partner with the Resident Council as necessary. Administer resident satisfaction surveys and work with the district team to address opportunities for improvement.
  • For assisted living or memory care communities, create a collaborative relationship with the community clinical leader to ensure care and services meet residents' needs.
  • Oversee resident services including the admission process, healthcare management, and maintenance of resident documentation.
  • Assist in developing and conducting service plan reviews with appropriate clinical care team members and resident families.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen related to community operations; meet or exceed budgeted revenue and profitability.
  • Proactively create plans to overcome unanticipated expenses or revenue shortfalls while meeting residents' needs.
  • Drive sales and marketing efforts in collaboration with the community sales leader to meet or exceed occupancy or revenue targets.
  • Engage with prospects who tour the community; identify trends and implement approved sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue (RevPAR).
  • Build positive relationships with local influencers and professionals to raise the community profile.
  • Become active in social and civic affairs of the local community that align with the Company’s mission.
  • Represent the community and the Company to governmental agencies, professional organizations, and community groups.
  • Ensure buildings, grounds, and property are up to Company standards through preventative maintenance systems and frequent inspections.
  • Enforce current Company policies and procedures; maintain applicable licenses in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and local requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years in operational leadership experience required. Additional years of experience can substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Valid administrator license in states where required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
  • Extensive understanding of technical areas gained through experience to complete and/or oversee assignments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong delegation skills based on individuals' skills, roles, and interests.
  • Good judgment and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Skills

  • Analytic skills and understanding of the organization and business to handle arising problems and issues.
  • Leadership skills to direct, coordinate, and evaluate resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance units.
  • Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.

Pay

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Full-time associates in this role are eligible for an annual bonus incentive and sales referral bonuses.

Schedule

  • Full-time only.
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage.
  • On-call on an as-needed basis.

  • Occasional travel required; drives self (Tier 2).
