Executive Director (Residential IDD Services)

About the role

Community Options, Inc. is a national nonprofit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities across 12 states. We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Executive Director to lead Residential Operations in Amarillo, TX. This is a key leadership role for someone deeply committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with state licensing and reporting standards
• Establish and lead an advisory board to support organizational growth and resource development
• Identify operational challenges and implement effective, high-quality solutions
• Develop and recommend policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery
• Identify and pursue grant and funding opportunities
• Lead fundraising initiatives to support organizational goals
• Promote and maintain a positive public image aligned with the organization’s mission
• Collaborate with local, state, and government agencies
• Contribute to strategic planning, including short- and long-term goals
• Cooperate fully with licensing bodies during inspections, inquiries, or investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of administrative and supervisory experience (Master’s preferred)
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Strong commitment to community-based services for individuals with disabilities
• Knowledge of funding sources and entitlement programs
• Strong public speaking and communication skills (including social media engagement)
• Proven leadership experience with a team-oriented approach
• Ability to pass background checks, registry screenings, and drug testing
