About the role

The Executive Director – Private Equity (North America) is responsible for the operational performance of Vistra's North American Private Equity business. This full-time, permanent position reports to the Executive Vice President, Fund Solutions, Americas, and provides executive oversight for a multidisciplinary team of more than 50 professionals delivering fund administration, investor services, financial reporting, and related solutions to a portfolio of private equity clients across the United States and Canada.

The role has accountability for the performance of the North American Private Equity business, including revenue growth, client retention, operational excellence, profitability, employee engagement, and strategic execution. Working closely with global service delivery teams and regional commercial leadership, the Executive Director ensures the North American business remains a market-leading provider of private markets solutions while supporting Vistra's broader global strategy.

This position is suited to an experienced executive who combines exceptional commercial acumen with deep technical expertise in private equity fund administration and has a proven ability to lead large teams, build strategic client relationships, and grow a high-performing business.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the commercial team to execute the strategic vision for Vistra's North American Private Equity business, establishing annual business plans, financial targets, and operational objectives.
  • Drive sustainable revenue, EBITDA, and profitability growth across the North American Private Equity business.
  • Lead organizational transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, service quality, and scalability.
  • Drive commercial performance through operation, including growth strategies across existing and prospective clients, strategic pursuits, cross-selling, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with General Partners, CFOs, COOs, Fund Controllers, and other senior client stakeholders.
  • Provide executive oversight of all North American Private Equity operational teams, including KPIs, SLAs, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Champion automation, technology adoption, and scalable operating models across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal governance requirements while promoting accountability, quality, and risk awareness.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of more than 50 professionals, driving employee engagement, succession planning, leadership development, and a high-performance culture aligned with Vistra's values.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience within Private Equity fund administration or alternative investments.
  • Minimum 10 years leading large operational and commercial teams.
  • Proven responsibility for regional revenue growth, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Experience managing multi-office North American operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced business qualification desirable.

Skills

  • Executive leadership experience managing large operational teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven business development success.
  • Deep technical expertise in Private Equity fund administration.
  • Expert knowledge of Fund Accounting, Investor Services, Capital Calls and Distributions, Waterfalls, Financial Reporting, and Alternative Investment Structures.
  • Experience with Investran or equivalent fund administration platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
