About the role
The Executive Director of Student Services is responsible for the planning, development, organization, management, direction, and implementation of all aspects of the Student Services department for the school district. Their primary duties are special education related, including social-emotional well-being, health services, Title I, services for English Learners, grant-funded programs, student discipline and SRO (student resource officer), Section 504 compliance, Homebound, McKinney-Vento, credit recovery, enrollment, education records counseling, targeted services, and ADSIS.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates assigned personnel
- Collaborates/provides support to administrative and professional staff
- Ensures compliance with all laws, codes, and regulations related to Student Services
- Facilitates professional learning related to content areas
- Makes appropriate data-based decisions
- Facilitates professional learning related to content areas
Qualifications
- Minnesota license as a Director of Special Education
- Experience in planning, budgeting, supervision, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team collaboration
- Leadership experience in a PreK-12 setting
- Demonstrated skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, and adult learning
- Demonstrated skills in data gathering and analysis, project planning, and evaluation
- Ability to make appropriate data-based decisions
- Excellent oral, written, and public speaking communication skills
- Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job; this includes adapting to and mastering new system applications and processes as implemented by the district or department

Pay
$170,000 to $180,000 annually (pro-rated for contracted days)
