Executive Director of Secondary Schools Student Activities and Athletics
Position Summary
The Executive Director of Secondary Schools Student Activities and Athletics is responsible for the development, management, coordination and supervision of secondary student activities and athletics programming across 19 secondary schools. The role sets strategic direction for athletics and activities, administers the overall budget, and serves as the district's primary representative to the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA), regional conferences, media, community partners, and booster organizations. This position supervises the athletic department team, athletic directors, and coaching staff, and ensures district athletics operate in compliance with all district, state, and national association and conference policies, rules, and regulations. The role advises the Deputy Superintendent and district leadership on athletics program performance, facility needs, and policy matters.

Education Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited university is preferred
High school and/or collegiate experience as an athletics administrator (10+ years)
High school and/or collegiate experience as a head coach
Proven successful performance in a multi-school setting
Licenses And Certifications
Teacher and/or Admin certification
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license required
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with and handle the media
Expert leadership and management skills
Strong collaboration skills with multiple groups and team members, including principals, coaches, parents, students, boosters, and community partners
Ability to evaluate coaching performance and to recruit highly qualified head coaches
Ability to develop, work with, and manage the annual budget
Strong knowledge of facilities and ability to assess the future needs for facilities
Ability to lead and manage site athletics directors in event management, including managing multiple events running concurrently across sites
Knowledge of event promotion at multiple sites
Ability to maintain records and data from each team and seasons performances
Ability to be an integral partner on the district administrative team
Strong organizational skills when working with 19 secondary schools and administrations
