Executive Director, Global Site & Study Operations, Americas

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Executive Director, Global Site & Study Operations, Americas to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This leader will oversee clinical site and study operations across the Americas, with responsibility for delivery performance, compliance, and execution across a complex portfolio of trials. The role will guide modern site-monitoring approaches, resource planning, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with global governance teams and clinical research sites. This is a highly visible leadership position focused on building accountable teams, strengthening regional operations, and improving the trial experience across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical trial operations across the Americas, including the US, Canada, and LATAM
• Guide modern site-monitoring approaches and resource strategies for clinical trials
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement of trial delivery methodologies
• Lead a high-performing team of Country/Hub heads, focusing on accountability and operational excellence
• Represent the region in global governance, influencing portfolio and study decisions
• Ensure timely and compliant trial delivery aligned with regulatory standards
• Build relationships with clinical research sites to enhance performance and experience

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 6 years of global site and study experience, or a Master's degree with 10 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 12 years of global site and study experience
• 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams
• Advanced degree preferred, particularly in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or medicine
• 15+ years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or clinical research organizations
• Extensive clinical operations experience across multiple phases of clinical development
• Significant experience managing large, geographically distributed clinical operations organizations
• Demonstrated oversight experience of complex global or regional clinical trial portfolios

Pay

$263,760 – $356,852 annually
