About the Role

As the Executive Director, Global Patient Safety Sciences Delivery, you will serve as the key point of contact for all Safety Sciences operations and risk-related responsibilities across all Therapeutic Areas (TAs). This role drives standardization of core activities performed by Safety Scientists—such as data transformation, safety surveillance, SMT preparation, aggregate reports, signal evaluations, and label enhancement justifications—while overseeing the processes and written procedures that underpin safety governance. You will partner cross-functionally with Safety Sciences TAHs and other leaders, serving as a member of the GPS Leadership Team (GPS LT). Additionally, you will lead the development and management of your team in a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful impact on patients worldwide.

Work Location

Tarrytown, NY, Warren, NJ, or Cambridge, MA. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week onsite. Travel is required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy to ensure standardization and consistency in execution of core activities (e.g., signal detection, authoring sections for safety documents) across all products and TAs through common practices, processes, and templates.
  • Oversee relevant training programs for GPS Safety Sciences, including a standardized training curriculum, proficiency matrix, and knowledge management repository.
  • Enable the Global Capability Center (GCC) to operate more efficiently and scale with business demands.
  • Develop innovative approaches to delivering core activities that integrate new technologies, including AI.
  • Ensure compliance and quality management of Safety Sciences Operations activities, including adherence to regulations and establishment of SOPs and monitoring tools.
  • Oversee all aspects of signal detection coordination and the signal management process across all TAs, including Safety Monitoring Team (SMT), Safety Surveillance Plan (SSP), and Signal Evaluation Report (SER).
  • Coordinate and support high-quality, timely, and compliant delivery of benefit-risk assessments for periodic safety reports (e.g., DSURs, PSURs) and contribute the Medical and Safety perspective to GPS portfolio documents (e.g., ARM, RMP, SMP).
  • Set and oversee the framework for aggregate safety data analysis to ensure effective coordination and delivery.
  • Serve as the strategic point of contact to enable Safety Sciences operational delivery in partnership with TAHs and GPS Leads.
  • Partner with key Regeneron interfaces (e.g., Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Biostats & Data Management).
  • Build, coach, and scale a high-performing team, driving succession planning and talent pipelines.
  • Lead talent strategy and leadership development initiatives to strengthen capabilities across the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum M.D., PA, PhD, or PharmD degree; Board Certification or equivalent in a relevant clinical specialty. MBA is an advantage.
  • 17+ years of total experience in pharmacovigilance (PV) or relevant clinical experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 6+ years of leading a team and people management experience.
  • Preferred experience with oversight of operations within a global patient safety organization.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess and optimize Safety operations processes.
  • Ability to drive consistency and ensure high-quality, compliant execution across activities.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and workload planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

Salary Range (annually): $285,600.00 - $475,900.00 (for jobs in Canada). The final offer will be determined within the relevant range based on the country of employment, specific role level, and your skills and experience. In some countries, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) may influence certain elements of pay or benefits.
