About the role

The Executive Director at Affinity Hospice is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hospice services, including personnel management, service delivery, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in operational planning and budgeting
  • Ensures care complies with Medicare, Medicaid, ACHC, Federal and State guidelines
  • Maintains standards of ethical business and clinical practice
  • Demonstrates exceptional service to patients, families, referral sources, co-workers, and other customers
  • Maintains financial stability through monitoring business operations
  • Oversees and participates in Administrator on-call rotation
  • Maintains operational progress towards goals
  • Evaluates hospice services and personnel using measurable outcomes and objectives
  • Ensures compliance with the organization's Performance Improvement program
  • Handles patient, employee, and customer complaints/concerns
  • Fosters a no-blame culture that encourages reporting of safety and quality of services issues
  • Ensures adequate and appropriate staffing and staff supervision
  • Conducts hiring process and annual employee performance evaluations
  • Ensures staff development including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing, and quality assessment performance improvement
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and maintains minutes
  • Ensures interdisciplinary care is provided and IDG meetings are conducted timely, and records are maintained
  • Directs staff in performance of duties including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of service to patients
  • Ensures services provided by other agencies are authorized by hospice
  • Ensures appropriate data collection and regular, complete reports are received by the Governing Body
  • Ensures adequate space, equipment, and supplies are available
  • Assists team members as needed to ensure consistent high-level service

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hospice management experience
  • Registered Nurse preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Good working knowledge of hospice federal and state guidelines, Medicare, and Medicaid hospice payor requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, direct, and motivate professional and administrative personnel
  • Ability to deal tactfully with the community and knowledge of corporate business management
  • Understanding of hospice care and services provided to patients and families through an interdisciplinary group
  • Current CPR certification
  • Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and in good working order
  • Excellent observation, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills per competency checklist
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload independently
  • Continuing Education Requirements: Participation in appropriate continuing education

Qualifications

  • Must have a current license to practice nursing
  • Maintains a current CPR certification
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full Time; (40) hours / week.
