About the role

The Executive Director of Finance and Business Operations oversees and is responsible for the efficient management of all facets of the Business Office at Kingsborough Community College. This includes accounting and purchasing, bursar, fixed assets, and operational services.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Vice President for Finance and Administration in planning, developing and implementing college financial plans and strategies.
  • Responsible for all college financial reporting, including periodic financial closings, reconciliations, and analyses.
  • Oversees internal and external financial audits.
  • Administers and ensures compliance with college and university fiscal policies.
  • Works closely with the Financial Aid Office to allocate and analyze enrollment trends and financial aid distributions.
  • Safeguards proper review and control of all procurement transactions.
  • Liaises with CUNY and State Officials about financial reports and policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all appropriate City, State, Federal and GAAP accounting and regulatory policies.
  • Oversees the collection of tuition and fees, and tuition revenue analyses.
  • Supervises and develops finance staff in the College Controller’s Office, Bursar, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Auxiliary Services, and Fixed Assets areas.
  • Ensures the proper implementation of University-wide financial and accounting systems on the campus.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Qualifications

  • This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: MBA or related discipline, CPA, Experience in Higher Education or large non-profit.

Compensation and Benefits

$165,000 - $175,000
