About the role

We're seeking an Executive Director, Computational Biology for our Biologics Research team. This role involves developing and expanding advanced computational biology capabilities and supporting diverse biologics discovery programs. Key responsibilities include guiding research strategy, leading a team, coordinating with experimental teams, and partnering with IT to build out computational infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Guide research strategy for AI-based protein design and data science through the lens of biotherapeutic research.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow two outstanding teams of computational biologists (protein design and data science).
  • Collaborate with experimental teams responsible for drug discovery projects and enabling research platforms.
  • Coordinate continued integration of computation and experiment as we scale our use of laboratory automation and adopt fit-for-purpose agentic AI-enabled workflows.
  • Partner with adjacent computational research groups, the Information Technology Department, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement overall corporate strategy for advanced computing technologies.

Requirements

You must have a PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field with 10+ years of experience in computational biology. Expertise in computational protein design, strong leadership and collaboration skills, and proven ability to innovate in relevant areas are essential. Hands-on experience with deep learning models and methods for protein design and predictive analysis, and a thorough understanding of state-of-the-art tools are required. Experience with next-generation sequencing data is beneficial, as is the ability to work with Information Technology to build computational and data infrastructure.

Qualifications

Pay

The salary range for this role is $255,000.00 - $347,500.00 annually. Occasional travel for team meetings or events will be expected. Travel requirements are approximately
