Executive Director and Assistant, Associate or Professor of Medicine, Student Health Services

UCF Health Student Health Services is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-earning assistant, associate, or professor of medicine to serve as Executive Director of Student Health Services.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, develop, and supervise Student Health Services in administration, personnel, budget planning, and internal communication.
• Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Student Health Services Strategic Plan while managing a multi-million-dollar budget, including financial planning, expenditure approval, resource allocation, and future program and facility expansion, renovation, and maintenance initiatives.
• Chair the Student Health Services (SHS) Executive Council and the SHS Performance Improvement Committee, providing leadership for program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, strategic planning, and resource management.
• Ensure the university's goals and objectives are communicated and achieved.
• Represent UCF Student Health Services at the university, state, regional, and national levels with active participation and leadership in constituent organizations.
• Lead Student Health Services in all Emergency Response situations (e.g., hurricanes, fires, active shooter).
• Represent Student Health Services and provide medical input and expertise to other university units and departments.
• Establish operational policies for Student Health Services and interpret University of Central Florida Board of Trustees policies as they relate to student health.
• Work closely with the College of Medicine Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs to coordinate Student Health Services in response to any UCF infectious disease outbreak or threat of outbreak.
• Provide leadership and oversight for workforce planning and staffing operations across Student Health Services, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, operational efficiency, and staff productivity.
• Promote and advance Student Health Services through engagement and collaboration with key university partners, including Student Government Association (SGA), Housing and Residence Life, Greek Life, and Graduate Studies.
• Provide leadership and policy direction, ensuring a formal business plan is developed, periodically updated, and followed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with strict adherence to federal and state laws, including HIPAA, FERPA, and public health reporting mandates.
• Develop and direct studies for program analysis and evaluation to ensure proper management of available resources.
• Ensure professional standards meet requirements of licensing agencies and guidelines established by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), including maintaining accreditation.
• Ensure clinical activities comply with Student Health Services policies, state and federal statutes, and Board of Regents guidelines.
• Advise and assist in planning, directing, and reporting clinical service activities.
• Provide direct clinical services to patients and consultative support to medical staff as needed.
• May supervise medical students, interns, and residents during their rotations.
• Foster the development of comprehensive clinical care, education, and prevention programs, and assume responsibility for the development of medical services and programs.
• Engage in frequent internal and external collaborations through committees, task forces, partnerships, and public relations efforts; participate in campus-wide health promotion.
• Oversee the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).
• Complete all required university, division, and departmental training in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution with a license to practice in the State of Florida.
• The candidate’s scholarly background and experience must be commensurate with the faculty rank for which the application is submitted.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in college health leadership, administration, or student health services.
• Strong understanding of higher education dynamics, with success in fostering cross-functional partnerships with campus and academic stakeholders to advance student health initiatives, programs, and services.
• Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Psychiatry, or other relevant specialties.
• Experience providing direct patient care in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, or other clinical settings.
• Prior clinical and administrative experience within a higher education student health center is strongly preferred, with experience leading or supporting public health initiatives and population health programs.
• Minimum of five years of professional related experience.

This is an auxiliary funded position and is contingent upon available funding. The selected candidate will be required to submit official transcripts (and, as applicable, U.S. degree equivalency evaluations) documenting the conferral of their qualifying academic credentials.
