About the role

Executive Director, Alternatives Strategic Partnerships will play a critical leadership role in driving the growth and distribution of AAM’s alternative investment platform. This individual will develop and execute strategic partnerships across key US Wealth intermediary firms, with a focus on large national accounts, focusing on wirehouse and broker-dealer relationships. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, distribution, and relationship management – responsible for expanding AAM’s market presence, securing product placements, and deepening engagement with strategic partners to accelerate adoption of alternative investment solutions. Responsibilities

  • Strategic Relationships Leadership: Serves as the primary relationship owner for assigned strategic partner firms, strengthening AAM’s position as a trusted alternatives provider while driving long-term, value-oriented partnerships.
  • Business Development & Platform Expansion: Identify, source, and execute opportunities to secure product approvals across platforms, recommended lists, and model portfolios.
  • Enterprise Sales Execution: Lead business development efforts with large national accounts and enterprise RIAs, including prospecting, onboarding and scaling new relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Investment teams to ensure coordinated execution of distribution strategies and successful rollout of new initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning & Insights: Develop business plans, presentations, and reporting to support partner strategy, track performance, and inform leadership decision-making.
  • Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership: Contribute insights on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and advisor needs to help shape AAM’s alternatives strategy and positioning.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success managing and growing relationships with large strategic partners, platforms, or enterprise RIAs
  • Proven track record of securing alternative investment product approvals and driving distribution outcomes
  • Deep knowledge of private markets and alternative investment strategies
  • Strong executive experience with exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Results-driven with a high sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability
  • Ability to operate with an enterprise mindset and contribute to broader business strategy
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Certifications: Series 7, 63
  • Experience: Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, national accounts, or strategic partnerships within asset management or alternatives

Pay

Total Compensation Range: $200,000 - $500,000 annually
