Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, CA is seeking a driven Full-Time Executive Chef to lead the execution of the property’s culinary strategy and ensure the overall success of the Food and Beverage Kitchen department.

About the role

As part of Troon, a global leader in golf and community management, you will contribute to a fast-paced hospitality-focused organization. This position involves managing all aspects of the kitchen, including staffing, menu planning, vendor relations, food production, training, inventory, catering, and budgeting while maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly interact with members and guests during meal service to ensure quality and execution meet standards.
  • Manage all major Food and Beverage Kitchen operating expenses, set margins, and track performance against projections.
  • Adopt best practices, including inventory management software and analytics tools.
  • Create events, theme menus, ice sculptures, decorations, banquets, and special events.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory levels, timing of orders, receiving, invoice settling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Inspect and select the freshest ingredients to maintain high food quality and consistency.
  • Measure department effectiveness through profit and service performance metrics.
  • Develop recipes, recipe cards, menu guides, and supporting materials.
  • Build strong relationships with Troon-preferred suppliers and participate in recommended programs.
  • Ensure a quality sanitation program and proper food storage to comply with Health Department regulations.
  • Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and manage kitchen staff, including Chefs, Cooks, and Stewards.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing training for new and existing associates.
  • Monitor business volume forecasts and adjust workforce, productivity, and expenses accordingly.
  • Implement and maintain excellent service standards to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in corporate F&B communications and networking events.
  • Incorporate safe work practices and ensure regular, reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Multi-unit restaurant or banquet experience is helpful.
  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in hotel and restaurant management, or a combination of practical experience and education in a key leadership role.
  • Must be ServSafe Certified (Food Manager & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
  • Proficient in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies, personnel management, recordkeeping, and report preparation.

  • Comprehensive understanding of hospitality/food service infrastructure, controls, and financial systems.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service equipment and current industry trends.
  • Exceptional personal hygiene and professional representation of the organization.
  • Fluent in English (speaking, writing, and comprehension).

Pay

$120,000 – $135,000 per year.
