EXECUTIVE CHEF II - PETERSON CENTER - UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH, PA

Job Summary

We are seeking an Executive Chef II at the University of Pittsburgh's Peterson Center. You will lead menu development and preparation, supervise team members, and foster client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
• Complete and apply daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Supervise and mentor chefs, cooks, and other team members on food preparation, safety, equipment operation, and sanitation practices.
• Ensure compliance with culinary standards, including recipe adherence and food quality.
• Lead inventory of food and non-food supplies, maintain compliance with guidelines, and ensure availability of necessary products.
• Enforce federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Forecast and manage annual food and labor costs, and supervise actual financial results.
• Foster strong client relationships to align programs with objectives, promoting happiness and retention.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support dining service operations.

Qualifications

• A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience.
• Experience in high-volume, hands-on foodservice operations.
• Must be experienced with computers.
• ServSafe® Certified.
