EXECUTIVE CHEF II

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is a leader in healthcare food and nutrition services serving more than 1,000 hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide. This Executive Chef role reports to the Senior Executive Chef and is classified as Grade 13.

About the role

We’re looking for a hands-on Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations, develop a strong team, and deliver meals that make a difference. Healthcare experience is not required—culinary creativity and leadership from restaurant, hotel, resort, or catering backgrounds are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations with a focus on flavor, quality, and presentation
• Plan and execute menus, including modified diets, following established guidelines
• Coach and train team in cooking techniques, food safety, and service standards
• Manage ordering, inventory, food costs, portions, and waste
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized kitchen and ensure audit readiness

Requirements

• 3–5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
• Strong hands-on cooking and team leadership skills
• Experience in high-volume foodservice; catering experience is a plus
• Knowledge of production planning, food cost controls, and sanitation
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email
• ServSafe certification preferred

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually, plus relocation assistance if outside the area.

Schedule

5-day workweek with alternating weekends.
