Responsibilities
- Apply and integrate excitation subsystem components—such as crowbar, de-excitation, field flashing, power conversion bridges, and voltage regulator controllers—into fully functional excitation/voltage regulator systems that meet customer specifications.
- Perform factory acceptance testing to verify that systems meet customer and project specifications.
- Travel to customer sites to conduct walkdowns, installations, maintenance, site acceptance testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring safe, high-quality execution and alignment with customer expectations.
- Acquire, prepare, and maintain the necessary test equipment and tools to successfully execute field assignments.
- Maintain a clear understanding of project scope, schedule, hours of work, and key delivery milestones; perform work within budgetary and timeline requirements and communicate risks or changes promptly.
- Seek out and participate in training opportunities to further enhance your technical and field service skills, staying current with evolving technologies and industry practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving methods.
- A problem-solver's mindset, with the ability to analyze information and think creatively to find solutions.
- A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Co-Op or internship experience in a technical environment.
- Hands-on exposure to excitation systems, control equipment design, and electrical power systems.
- Comfort presenting ideas to different audiences.
