About the role

Effectively manage the Exceptional Education learning environment to prepare lesson plans, provide specialized instruction, evaluate, monitor, and collect data on students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning. Complete required case management duties.

Requirements

• Arizona Special Education Certificate K-12 - CCS OR
• Mild-Moderate Special Education Certificate WITH Music K-12 Endorsement OR
• Arizona Secondary Certificate WITH Mild-Moderate Special Education Endorsement AND Music Approved Area OR
• Music K-12 Endorsement OR
• Arizona Early Childhood Special Education OR
• Moderate/Severe Disabilities WITH Mild-Moderate Special Education Endorsement, PreK-12 WITH Music Approved Area OR
• Arizona Arts Education - Music PreK-12 Certificate WITH Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement AND Appropriate Special Education Endorsement/Approved Area
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required prior to start date)
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
• Valid Driver’s License with MVReport showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License (per Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1)
• Reliable personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance meeting or exceeding state minimum requirements (per Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1)

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Schedule

• Effective: 2026-2027 school year
• 9.5-month work calendar
• 1.0 FTE (7.5 hours per day)
• Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits
• Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar
