Description
Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has since expanded to operate across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care, all of which are trauma-informed and evidence-based.
What will you do as a EC Small Group Instruction Teacher?
- Provide support, education, and guidance to the youth in their care.
- Learn and utilize the organization’s systems, processes, and procedures as instructed.
- Display a high degree of openness to coaching/feedback regarding performance.
- Contribute to a positive team culture through actions, attitude, and communication.
- Represent the organization internally and externally through communication and conduct.
- Display trauma-informed instructional practices and principles in interactions with students, peers, and leadership.
- Provide high-quality education, guidance, mentoring, and support to the children in your program.
- Teach middle-high school classes (ELA (Literacy and Writing) and some foundational math skills).

- Starting Pay Range: $55-$60k annually

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field with 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Comfortable with foundational mathematics.
- NC Teacher License Required.
- Exceptional Children Certification Required.
- Experience with adolescent youth ranging from 6th-12th grade.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A valid Driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
