About the Role: The exam room is the heart of our shelter, where animals receive their first point of care. As an Assistant Animal Health Technician / Exam Room Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring each animal's health and well-being. Your responsibilities will include: Administering medications and vaccines with precision and careSkillfully restraining animals for various medical proceduresCleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, floors, and rooms to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.Providing basic daily necessities and compassionate care to our furry friends What We're Looking For: The ideal candidate will have: A high school diploma or equivalentAt least one year of hands-on animal handling experience, preferably in veterinary or shelter settingsExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsThe ability to work well under pressure in emotionally challenging situationsAvailability to work weekendsStrong internal customer service skills Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Veterinary Technician or AssistantExperience with animal health and wellness exams, including vaccinations and bloodworkFamiliarity with shelter medicine protocols and proceduresStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a teamCompassion and empathy towards animals and their owners Benefits Why Work With Us?
