About the role

Pragmatike is partnering with a YC-backed AI technology start-up building ambitious products at the intersection of software, intelligence, and user experience. We're looking for a Frontend Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys taking ownership of highly interactive product experiences from concept through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Develop highly interactive user experiences with a strong focus on performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define and ship new features.
• Take ownership of frontend architecture and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Build reusable components and scalable frontend systems.
• Optimize application performance, state management, and data-fetching strategies.
• Contribute across the stack when needed, helping deliver end-to-end features.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, and engineering best practices.
• Create thoughtful user experiences, including loading states, error handling, and accessibility considerations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Strong expertise with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building complex web applications at scale.
• Deep understanding of state management and modern frontend architecture.
• Strong product sense and ability to make informed UX decisions.
• Experience working closely with backend systems and APIs.
• Ability to operate independently and thrive in ambiguous environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality user experiences.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Experience with real-time or collaborative applications, exposure to AI-powered products or developer tools, familiarity with modern frontend ecosystems, advanced caching and synchronization strategies, experience in startup or high-growth environments, design experience or strong visual product instincts, experience helping establish engineering standards in early-stage teams.
