Principal Functions And Responsibilities

• Fulfills daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks for all surfaces in the facility, including furniture, equipment, woodwork, floors, counters, cabinets, door frames, sinks, toilets, phones, wheelchairs, beds, fixtures, TV’s, mirrors, windows, blinds, doors, walls, vents, and fans.
• Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishes, vacuums, buffs, strips, and waxes floors according to a schedule to maintain cleanliness.
• Daily wet/dry mops all hard floors and vacuums all carpeted areas.
• Uses a ladder as necessary for high work, following proper procedures and safety standards.
• Removes waste and soiled linens from areas and places them in specified bags.
• Moves furniture and other objects to clean effectively.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures in patient rooms, surgery areas, and other designated areas as scheduled or upon request.
• Cleans occupied patient rooms, dismissal rooms, public restrooms, laboratory, X-ray department, offices, dining room, clinic, emergency areas, same day surgery, surgery, conference rooms, and lobby areas daily.
• Handles bio hazard spills, adhering to strict safety standards for infection control and personal well-being.
• Maintains cleaning carts with cleaning supplies, ensuring chemicals are stored in locked bins and carts are kept neat.
• Daily launder, dry, and restock used rags and mops.
• Wears appropriate footwear and maintains a neat appearance.
• Wears badges in full view during working hours.
• Attends meetings and participates on committees as required.
• Maintains positive and effective relations with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
