About the role
Responsible for supervising the cleaning and appearance maintenance of casino public areas and public restrooms to enhance the environment for creating an excellent experience for all guests. Facilitates and performs custodial functions to ensure the cleanliness of the facility, including the casino and other public and employee areas, in accordance with management directives, as well as assigned projects. Provides support to public area attendants.
Responsibilities
- Provides direction and development of support staff and team members, resulting in strong self-managed teams.
- Interviews, hires, and ensures proper training of new team members.
- Assists with employee timesheets.
- Supervises day-to-day cleanliness and sanitation of public areas to ensure guests, employees, and vendors feel welcome, safe, and have a positive experience.
- Performs routine inspections of all public areas.
- Assists Public Area/EVS Attendant with deep cleaning and other projects.
- Schedules employees to ensure excellent guest services are maintained in conjunction with efficiency and business needs.
- Issues assignments to Public Area/EVS Attendants, reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensures property cleanliness in the casino and restroom areas.
- Delegates and holds team members accountable for success.
- Creates a safe, healthy, productive, and fun work environment where team members strive to do their best.
- Understands the budget process and inventory supply and control.
- Meets attendance guidelines and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Monitors casino floor, stairs, mirrors, glass, and assigned areas to ensure quality and cleanliness.
- Maintains appearance of gaming area, including dusting and polishing/disinfecting slot machines and seats, cleaning trash from around slot machines.
- Completely cleans entire casino floor area, including vacuuming, cleaning carpets and carpeted areas, ledges, edges, and glass.
- Cleans gaming tables as requested.
- Dusts and cleans all casino signage.
- Services assigned areas daily, including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, and disinfecting restrooms, ash/trash receptacles, elevators, dusting, polishing, and sweeping.
- Mops, sweeps, and cleans restrooms, including sinks, mirrors, walls, toilets, vents, and dispensers.
- Cleans, sweeps, mops, and empties trash in offices, lobbies, bar areas, corridors, elevators, locker rooms, and other work areas as directed.
- Monitors bathrooms to ensure they are always clean and orderly.
- Maintains all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly manner.
- Removes all trash and recycling from receptacles and disposes of them at designated locations.
- Operates trash and cardboard compactor following Standard Operations Guidelines (SOG).
- Supervises departmental duties: dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal, restroom cleaning; cleaning of windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and carpet cleaning, including cleaning of slot machines and other furnishings.
- Assists in maintaining inventory and ordering departmental cleaning supplies as required.
- Assigns Public Area (EVS) staff daily cleaning duties as required.
- Prepares and maintains files, records, reports, and related documents in support of Public Area (EVS) activities.
- Enforces Public Area (EVS) standard operational procedures.
- Meets and coordinates with prior shift Supervisor prior to each assigned shift.
- Attends and completes all required departmental training, including bio clean up, carpet cleaning/shampooing/extracting, and chemical safety.
- Responsible for turning in any lost and found items to Security.
- Delegates to ensure completion of any project issued by management.
- Provides proper customer service by assisting external/internal guests with questions or requests.
- Ensures that all keys are issued, signed out, and returned by the end of shift.
- Ensures all Public Area/EVS personnel complete all mandatory and required computer-based training.
- Assists in orienting and training of all new Public Area/EVS Attendants, Leads, and Supervisors.
- Ensures new employees interact with Caesars Virginia guests in a friendly and courteous manner and adhere to Public Area/EVS standards.
- Reports maintenance needs following Caesars Virginia’s protocol and emergency repairs to the proper departments immediately.
- Completes special assignments as requested by Manager – Public Areas and above.
- Maintains break room and executive office facilities.
- Participates in departmental safety and technical training programs.
Qualifications
- Highly motivated and self-directed with a minimum of one year supervisory, housekeeping, or environmental services operations experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer experience desired.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of chemical and cleaning supplies and techniques/equipment, including MSDS and OSHA.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish helpful.
- Ability to work well with coworkers and function as part of a team.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
- Proficient in using PC with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledgeable with UKG.
- Ability to obtain a required Virginia Lottery Gaming License.
Pay
$21.00 per hour
