EVS Service Worker, Full Time Day

Responsibilities

• Select cleaning materials/supplies and prepare cleaning solutions.
• Load service cart and transport to work area.
• Clean assigned area (including walls, doors, tile, fixtures, patient TVs and equipment) with germicidal cleaning solutions.
• Sweep, mop floors and vacuum carpet.
• Spot clean carpet using appropriate solutions.
• Clean restrooms, vanity areas, showers and commodes, maintaining sanitary and odor‑free conditions; replenish essentials.
• Collect and remove trash, sanitize all garbage cans and compactor area.
• May collect and transport hazardous waste in a special closed container for sterilization before disposal.
• May collect soiled linen and distribute clean linen.
• Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs.
• Return unused supplies to janitor closet, ensuring all supplies are replaced in an orderly manner.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English to comprehend instructions of cleaning materials.
• Good and regular attendance.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role). Preferred.
• Licenses/Certification: None required.
• Experience: Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred.
