About the Role
Assists in all activities of the Environmental Services (EVS) department with primary duties being floor care maintenance. Ability to follow routine floor care and cleaning schedules in addition to management's requests for unscheduled tasks and project assignments. Duties may also include cleaning and/or maintaining all areas of Harris Health System facilities. This position requires the ability to operate equipment safely, ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors, and personal responsibility for your safety. Work assignments may be completed individually or in a team setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform floor care maintenance, including routine cleaning and restoration of commercial floors.
- Operate and maintain heavy floor care equipment safely, including high-speed and low-speed machines, walk-behind and riding scrubbers, burnishers, extractors, and wet vacuums.
- Follow scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
- Ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Complete work assignments individually or as part of a team.
- Work with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred; or six months recent hospitality, commercial, or healthcare housekeeping experience in lieu of diploma/GED.
- Three years of hospitality, commercial, or healthcare housekeeping experience, with at least one year of hard floor maintenance and restoration of commercial floor care.
- Ability to operate and maintain floor care equipment in a safe manner at all times.
Skills
- Experience with PeopleSoft and PC applications.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and overtime as required.
