About the Role
Under close supervision, the Custodian performs cleaning duties in assigned areas of the facility in both patient and non-patient areas; is responsible for cleaning and safeguarding of assigned areas; is responsible for assigned equipment; determines supplies needed; ensures efficient usage of supplies; delivers clean linen and picks up soiled linen.
Responsibilities
- Perform all cleaning/custodial functions including mopping, pushing and pulling carts, wall washing, vent cleaning, and vacuuming.
- Handle, store, and dispose of chemotherapy and infectious/bio-hazardous waste according to procedures.
- Follow basic safety regulations and issues.
- Read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Requirements
- Able to perform all cleaning/custodial functions.
- Understanding of procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of chemotherapy and infectious/bio-hazardous waste.
- Understanding of basic safety regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior custodial experience in a large, complex healthcare setting or hospitality environment.
- Customer service training/experience.
Special Conditions
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay
Annual Full Pay Range: $55,729 - $69,280 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $26.69 - $33.18
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
