Join Banner University Medical Center - Tucson Environmental Services department in a fast-paced work environment. As a Housekeeping/EVS Associate, you will be part of a cohesive, high-performing team focused on providing a clean, sanitized, and safe environment. This role is crucial to the overall patient experience, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment while following proper infection control and safety procedures.

Location

Banner - University Medical Center - 1625 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, Arizona.

Schedule

• Full Time - Evening Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Weekend rotations and holidays are required
• Flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential
• 18% night shift differential when applicable

Training Schedule (for Full Time and Part Time, no exemptions):

• 1st Week: Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 2nd Week: Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (includes attending NEO on a Monday morning)

Both BUMCT & BUMCS train together – location determined by EVS Educator.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to department policy and procedures
• Sterilization of procedural rooms, including terminal cleaning of operating rooms
• Emptying hampers and transporting soiled linen
• Emptying trash containers and removing all trash
• Emptying all medical waste containers, including sharps
• Inventorying, restocking, and replenishing supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
• Maintaining cleanliness of departmental equipment and reporting necessary repairs
• Protecting equipment from damage through proper use and logging equipment in/out
• Performing special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
• Responding to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors
• Meeting or exceeding goals for customer service satisfaction

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
• Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and by phone
• Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals
• Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting serving children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees at Olive Branch Senior Center must also possess and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous related experience in environmental services
• Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques
