EVS Assistant Director - 2nd Shift
About the Role
Xanitos is seeking a 2nd shift EVS Assistant Director for City of Hope Orange County in Irvine, CA. As an Assistant Director, you will oversee the operational needs of the EVS Department, coordinate subordinate supervisory staff, ensure staff training aligns with The Joint Commission guidelines, and schedule staff within budgetary constraints. In the absence of the Unit Director, you will act as the administrative liaison between key client contacts and the departments.

Responsibilities
- Establish and annually review standards and work procedures for all EVS staff in accordance with facility policies and practices.
- Plan work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate EVS services are rendered to all areas.
- Interview, select, hire, evaluate, and recommend termination of facility EVS personnel in accordance with facility standards.
- Orient, train, develop, and supervise all supervisory/EVS staff under your span of control.
- Regularly inspect and evaluate the physical condition of the facility; recommend painting, repairs, and furnishings.
- Provide monthly administrative progress reports on short-term accomplishments, future plans, and staff education/training.
- Supervise the relocation and storage of furnishings and equipment to improve sanitation and appearance.
- Report unsafe conditions and conduct research to improve EVS technology.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and coordinate with other departments to align EVS activities.
- Serve on facility-wide committees as needed.
- Schedule major project work, ensuring adequate staff and supplies are available.
- Conduct regular inventory of EVS supplies and order within approved budgetary amounts.
- Maintain and annually review standards and work procedures for EVS staff.
- Coordinate all outside services related to the EVS department (e.g., Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical Waste, Solid Waste, Document Destruction, and Recycling program).
- Discipline associates according to progressive disciplinary guidelines.
- Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports; conduct follow-up investigations and report findings to the Department Director.
- Prepare disciplinary action notices and conduct follow-up as required.
- Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment.
- Demonstrate and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy.
- Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the healthcare EVS field at an equal or higher level with high customer/client contact.
- EVS Floorcare and Linen experience required.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English highly desired.
- Union and Training Experience highly preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
- Working knowledge of the environment to meet established goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated progressive growth in the field of healthcare EVS facility maintenance.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000, depending on skills, qualifications, degrees, certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission if applicable.
