EVS Aide (Per Diem)

Job Summary

Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. This role requires strong communication skills and a demonstrated command of the English language are essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It also requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, short correspondence, and memos, while maintaining a high level of satisfaction for patients, visitors, employees, and external customers. The ideal candidate also shows initiative, takes on additional duties as needed, works well in a fast-paced environment, and can multitask effectively. In addition, this person serves as a mentor to peers by teaching basic skills and techniques.

Pay, Benefits, and Schedule

• Pay Range: Minimum $23.00 Midpoint $26.41 Maximum $29.81
• Rates of pay are determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
• The EVS Aide cleans and services building areas, removes non-medical waste and medical waste according to established procedures.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Experience Required: Previous customer service experience. Preferred: Six (6) months of housekeeping with floor care experience.
• Education Required: High School Diploma, GED or two additional years of experience in lieu of education.
• Training Required: None required.

Specialized Skills and Physical Demands

• Specialized Skills Required: Able to operate heavy floor machines.
• Physical Activity Requirements: Medium - High energy level. Includes lifting (Floor to waist level) - Constant 67 or more%, Lifting (Floor to waist level) - Frequent 36-66%, Lifting (Floor to waist level) - Occasional 0-35%, Lifting (Waist level and above) - Constant 67 or more%, Lifting (Waist level and above) - Frequent 36-66%, Lifting (Waist level and above) - Occasional 0-35%.

Work Environments and Sensory Requirements

• Environment Requirements: Airborn Communicable Disease, Bloodborne Pathogens, Chemical, Dust Particular Matter, Extreme Noise Levels, Extreme Temperatures, Radiation, Uneven Surfaces or Elevations.
• Sensory Requirements: Color Discrimination, Depth Perception, Far Vision, Hearing, Near Vision.
