Essential Functions
- Provides helper functions as directed for all services provided by the division.
- Performs work with a cheerful outlook and in a professional, safe manner.
- Loads hoses, chemicals and other equipment required for assigned job onto truck.
- Hooks up and breaks down hoses using proper tools, gaskets, and Teflon tape, when directed by supervisor.
- Cleans up work area and equipment after work is completed.
- Affords assistance in maintaining a safe, clean workplace, change room, locker area and customer’s plant.
- Assists in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area prior to starting any job.
- Informs supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
- Reports to work on scheduled time. If unable to show up for assigned work, notifies supervisor no less than two (2) hours in advance of scheduled time.
- Wears company pager or near person at all times.
- Wears the personnel protective equipment prescribed by posted signs, written instructions, and work permits. Also wears additional protective equipment specified by the supervisor or Customer Safety Department.
- Promotes safety through own actions and work habits. Reports all accidents and near misses, involving self, company vehicles or other job personnel to supervisor immediately.
- Performs Hazard Recognition Awareness to remove all hazards from the workplace.
- Complies with all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the company and customer.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor and management personnel.
- Develops a basic working knowledge of all equipment that is utilized in performing assigned duties.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required, and for long periods of time to bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit, hand strength and dexterity.
- A Technician I will frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 51 pounds.
- Moves about on hands and feet, bending body downward and forward, bending leg and spine- working in a bent over position.
- Ability to verbally communicate alarms or warnings clearly, concisely, loudly, and quickly.
- Sensing physical attributes such as size, shape, temperature, texture, or sharpness of an object by touching.
- Must possess foot agility and dexterity- operating pedals, foot controls, kick bars and other similar tasks that require foot or toe motion.
- Grasp, grip and/or apply pressure to an object with the fingers, palm, holding an object in the hand.
- Lift, raise or lower objects in a vertical direction, particularly heavy or bulky objects.
- Move objects backwards, forward, in or out in a horizontal direction, particularly heavy or bulky objects.
- Pulling, exerting a steady backward, downward, upward, or outward force against an object- jerking, wrenching, stretching, towing, drawing, dragging, or tugging objects in sustained motion.
- Reaching, extending the hand (s) and/or arm(s) in any direction.
- See, read, write, and understand communication including directions, instructions, and warning signs.
- Ability to see and distinguish colors, to visually distinguish shapes and patterns, to accurately sense distances (depth perception), to accurately see objects and detect motion and wide angles (peripheral vision).
- Must have the ability to properly wear and use all required PPE.
