Events Worker

Position Summary

This is a temporary or on-call position. Provides support for concerts, sporting events, outdoor functions and related University special events. Duties may include working at an assigned station in a concession stand; preparing and dispensing refreshments; transporting, maintaining and arranging supplies, equipment and materials; operating a cash drawer; assisting with parking enforcement; acting as an event usher; and similar event related responsibilities.

Term

Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

This is a TEMP (9 month working cycle) position. Provides supporting roles for Athletic events, related University special events. Athletic Event Staff duties may include - ticking taking, usher, customer service at Athletic events. Staff within these roles will interact with the public, supervisor their assigned area and other positional responsibilities.

Desired Qualifications

• An enthusiastic, friendly personality
• Interact with the public in a respectful and professional manner
• Able to be on their feet for 5-7 hours, walk up and down stairs and be comfortable working in all kinds of weather conditions
• Ideally staff must be able to work ALL or at least six of the seven Football games listed below

1. Fri., Sept. 4th vs. Toledo at 8 p.m.
2. Sat. Sept. 12th vs. Eastern Michigan at 3:30 p.m.
3. Sat. Sept. 26th vs. Nebraska - time tbd
4. Sat. Oct. 10th vs. Illinois - time tbd
5. Sat. Oct. 17th vs. Northwestern - time tbd
6. Sat. Nov. 14th vs. Washington - time tbd
7. Fri. Nov. 20th vs. Oregon - time tbd
