About the Opportunity
The Events Manager leads the organization's events strategy to generate measurable leads, increase brand awareness, and support marketing and sales objectives. This role manages the full event lifecycle across local, regional, national, and virtual events, ensuring each opportunity is executed effectively and delivers strong return on investment. The position also supports strategic partnerships and visibility within the education sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage logistics for more than 70 contracted events annually, including trade shows, conferences, and virtual events.
- Track event deadlines and coordinate registration, booth selection, payments, materials, promotional items, shipping, and travel arrangements.
- Research and recommend new trade shows and conferences targeting key audiences, including Public Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, and Superintendents.
- Manage and monitor the events and trade show budget.
- Provide on-site event support by traveling to at least two key marketing events annually.
- Coordinate pre-event lead generation campaigns and post-event follow-up activities.
- Track event leads in the CRM and analyze event performance and return on investment.
- Coordinate with national school leadership organizations and regional education agencies.
- Identify and organize speaking opportunities for executives and subject matter experts.
- Manage promotional inventory, vendor relationships, and fulfillment requests.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Executive teams to maximize event outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing events focused on lead generation, preferably within B2B or education technology organizations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and proactively resolve issues.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately twice per year for key conferences.
Pay
Annual salary range: $70,000–$95,000, depending on experience.
