Event Work Crew II - Flex

About the Role

The Project Team Driver 2 position primarily assists in the pulling and receiving of rental items within the warehouse, as well as the loading and unloading of trucks for Biltmore events such as weddings, exhibitions, and corporate events during peak seasons. This role helps create a world-class experience for guests and includes duties such as equipment delivery, setup, warehouse maintenance, inventory control, and exhibition setup/strike/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely operate a box truck, including loading, strapping/securing items, and unloading.
• Load and unload tables, chairs, and other event/party rental items.
• Provide friendly, professional service to internal customers and guests.
• Pull, sort, pack, and place equipment/items on racks, shelves, or bins according to company standards, including linen/drape prep and dish washing.
• Set up rental equipment and test/ensure quality matches company expectations upon arrival.
• Execute directions given from pull sheets, emails, phone calls, etc.
• Perform warehouse maintenance, including organization, top cleaning, and repairs.
• Assist with Biltmore exhibit installation/strike/maintenance for events like Luminere, Illumination, and Christmas.
• Take direction from managers, supervisors, technicians, and support services staff.
• Safely operate a warehouse forklift and scissor lift.
• Operate carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment to move products through the warehouse and onto trucks.
• Ensure all items meet company standards and make necessary repairs.
• Support custom signage requests and client-requested builds, including fabrication, carpentry, and fabric work.
• Assist with custom installations in the field or serve as a runner for last-minute requests.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• At least one (1) year of prior experience working with event setup and logistics preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing world-class internal/external guest service.
• Solid interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and service.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and adapt.
• Ability to take direction, understand, and execute instructions successfully.
• Proactive with good judgment and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic guest service environment and interact with guests and vendors according to Biltmore standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds regularly with assistance.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and/or scaffolding.
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, and kneel.
• Must have a valid NC Driver's License with a clean driving record and be at least 18 years of age.

Schedule

Flex position working an average of 20-29 hours per week (between 1000 - 1559 hours/year).
