About the role

A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures flawlessly executed events through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
  • Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers through effective communication and positive client relationships.
  • Meets with guests on-site to confirm their needs are met and equipment is functioning properly; monitors events and checks in with customers throughout the day.
  • Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
  • Demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follows company processes, completes systems entry and paperwork accurately, and uses equipment sheets to determine setup and strike requirements.
  • Interacts with staff and outside vendors for equipment needs; increases revenue through floor up-selling techniques.
  • Works with clients to finalize invoices and completes order entries in Navigator as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required for team members operating Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust.
  • Working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes.
  • Team members use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.
  • May be required to work in multiple hotel locations.
  • Irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on the hotel or city.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $20.00 - $22.00. Compensation is determined based on qualifications for the specified location. Final compensation considers factors such as location, relevant work experience, skills, and expertise. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
