Event Technician , Audio Visual (Part Time Casual) - Whitney Peak Hotel
About the Role
A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Ensures flawlessly executed events through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
- Customer Service: Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers. Maintains positive client relationships through effective communication. Meets with guests on-site to ensure their needs are met and equipment is functioning properly. Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day. Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
- Technical Ability: Demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues. Handles challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Systems Knowledge: Understands company processes, follows procedures, and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately. Uses equipment sheets to determine setup and strike requirements. Interacts with staff and outside vendors for equipment needs. Increases revenue through floor up-selling techniques. Works with clients to finalize invoices and completes order entries in Navigator as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for team members operating Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
- Hotel: Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust. Conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members may use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Work locations may include multiple hotels. Irregular hours, on-call status, and work during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays are required. Adherence to appearance guidelines is mandatory.
- Warehouse: Work is performed at event venues and in a warehouse environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust. Conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members may use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components. Irregular hours, on-call status, and work during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. Pay
The hourly pay range for this role is $18.11 - $22.18. Compensation is determined based on qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation considers factors such as location, travel, relevant work experience, skills, and expertise. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
