About the Role

A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
  • Customer Service: Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers. Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication. Meets with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and equipment is functioning properly. Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day. Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.
  • Technical Ability: Understands technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment and software issues. Handles equipment challenges and changes professionally and promptly.
  • Systems Knowledge: Understands company processes, follows procedures, and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately. Uses equipment sheets to determine setup and strike schedules. Interacts with staff and vendors for equipment. Increases revenue through floor up-selling techniques. Works with clients to finalize invoices and completes order entries in Navigator as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Internal applicants must meet/complete all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program.
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required for team members operating Company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may apply.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. The environment ranges from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members use high-end audiovisual equipment, electrical components, and may work at heights via lifts and ladders. Irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, are required. Appearance guidelines must be followed based on hotel standards.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $15.64 - $19.50

Compensation is based on qualifications, location, experience, and skills. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
